St Anton: Austria's best ski resort for advanced skiers

St Anton is one of the top luxury ski resorts in Europe and the best in Austria for those with plenty of experience on the slopes.

The Daily Telegraph's Peter Hardy picked out Austria's best resorts and named St Anton number one for advanced skiers, while highlighting the thriving social scene which can be found off the snow.

While many of the slopes are challenging, there are a number of courses which cater for those who have less experience, ensuring people of all abilities are able to have an enjoyable time.

"Anyone who can manage a red run with some confidence should head for the slopes on St Anton's main mountain ... less accomplished skiers can always take the ski bus to Lech and Zurs, returning in time for the evening action," Mr Hardy said.

Writing in the Financial Times, Carola Hoyos said that despite St Anton's reputation for being for advanced skiers, she and her young children had a wonderful time on their recent visit.
