New Zealand: Rotorua is one of the world's great geothermal wonders
Rotorua is one of the greatest geothermal wonders on the planet and a must see for anyone planning a New Zealand adventure.
Travel Information 123 stated that there are a number of attractions in this part of New Zealand but the geysers and mud pools are among the most exciting.
"Visiting geothermal sites [is] one of the most interesting things to do in Rotorua. See multiple active geysers forcefully flying into the air, bubbling mud pools and steam literally seeping from the ground," the source said.
One area which should be included in any itinerary is Whakarewarewaa, which is home to the largest geyser and boasts more than 500 hot springs, the blog went on to add.
Known as the Living Thermal Village, Whakarewarewaa's biggest attraction is the Pohutu geyser, which erupts as many as 15 times a day, with its jets of water reaching upwards of 90 ft.
