New Zealand: home to incredible landscapes

From the Bay of Islands to the Otago Region, New Zealand is blessed with some stunning landscapes.

That is according to artist Alisa Morris, who told the Times Online that the country's terrain is nothing short of spectacular and is one of its greatest attractions.

Ms Morris, a self-taught painter, has captured some of New Zealand's most iconic landscapes on canvas and plans to reveal them at a forthcoming exhibition.

"I feel the landscapes here are incredible," she told the newspaper.

And in a word of advice to those planning to travel New Zealand, many of the country's most beautiful locations are a well-kept secret.

"So many South Island lakes are off the tourist track," Ms Morris went on to add.

According to a recent entry on the Travel Wonders of the World blog, the Huka Falls on New Zealand's North Island is a "visual feast" and a must see on any New Zealand holiday.
