Luxury ski resorts: More to Val d'Isere than skiing

Families are not going to spend every minute of their ski holiday on the slopes, meaning luxury ski resorts need to offer more than just snow and Val d'Isere certainly does that.

That is according to Sophie Martin, press officer at the Val d'Isere Tourist Office, who stated that the resort has undergone something of a transformation in recent years.

As well as offering more family-friendly pistes and facilities, Val d'Isere also provides plenty of things to enjoy off the slopes, giving people a good all-round experience.

"We also have firework displays, torch-lit descents, street shows for all the family, youth literature meetings and pyrotechnics. It's not just skiing," Ms Martin said.

Families will not have to wait too long before they can head away to Val d'Isere for a luxury ski holiday, as the resort opens for the winter season on November 27th and stays open until May 1st next year.
