Luxury ski resorts: St Anton is great for New Year's Eve

Seeing in the new year on luxury ski holidays can be lots of fun and one of the best resorts to welcome 2011 is St Anton in Austria.

Charles Starmer-Smith, writing in the Daily Telegraph, told a reader who wanted a last minute holiday in a ski resort that St Anton is definitely the place to go for those looking for lively celebrations.

He stated that new year festivities at the resort are vibrant and yet have a relaxed atmosphere, with the mid-mountain bars of Moosevirt and Krazy Kangaruh two of the most popular haunts.

"If you are a skier who is planning to see in the new year in raucous style, then Austria is the place to head. St Anton and Ischgl tops the après-ski charts," Mr Starmer-Smith added.

And those keen to see in the new year in style by staying in one of the resort's luxury chalets should book the Artemis, which boasts everything ski fans could want, according to the Independent's Lucy Gillmore.
