Tailor made holidays: Canary Islands ideal for those seeking winter sun
Sun seekers looking to embark on their own tailor made holidays should book a break in the Canary Islands, according to an expert.
With the UK in the midst of a cold snap and many areas under snow, Britons could be on the move this Christmas looking for warmer weather.
Sean Tipton, spokesman for ABTA - The Travel Association, expressed his belief that the Canary Islands could be an ideal location for those seeking a warmer Christmas vacation.
"If we are talking about the next three weeks, the last few days have seen some very harsh weather in the UK, so if you are looking for winter sun, the Canary Islands have great temperatures at this time of year," he said.
Meanwhile, a recent survey by lastminute.com revealed that more than half of UK workers failed to claim their full holiday allowance in 2009.
The study shows that 45 per cent of British employees have unused holiday left to take this year, which equates to at least 13.1 million days of unclaimed holiday remaining.
