Luxury ski resorts: Meribel offers world-class slopes

Meribel is one of the world's best luxury ski resorts as it offers world-class slopes and spectacular scenery, it has been claimed.

The French resort was widely praised in an article on the Telegraph's new travel website, tripideas.co.uk, which revealed many celebrities are drawn to the area.

"The Beckhams, Natalie Imbruglia and Sophie Ellis-Bextor have all skied here, no doubt blown away by the spectacular scenery of the surrounding Vanoise National Park," it said.

Meribel is also home to Harry Potter star Emma Watson, who recently bought a £1million chalet in the region.

Holidaymakers looking for some apres-ski activities can head down to the popular fashion shop Au Dela Des Montagnes and its neighbouring boutiques.

Meribel is located in the Three Valleys, the largest ski area in the world with 372 miles of ski slopes and around 200 ski lifts. It is one of eight ski resorts in the region.
