Luxury ski holidays: Holidaymakers advised to get fit before taking to the slopes
Those planning a luxury ski holiday this winter have been advised to get in shape before taking to the slopes.
Steve Halsall, celebrity fitness trainer and entrepreneur, expressed his belief that skiers of all abilities should aim to improve their fitness with an all-over-body workout.
"Skiing is quite an all-over-body action really. It is obviously quite heavy on the legs, but there is a lot of core and your arms do get some work," he said.
"A beginners circuit class would do and probably a bit of Pilates and a bit of yoga thrown in for flexibility."
Mr Halsall added that any exercises that replicate what travellers do on the slopes will be more beneficial than simply walking up and down stairs.
In a recent article in the Denver Post, personal trainer Jamie Atlas revealed that holidaymakers should aim to exercise in a number of stances to mimic the skiing action.
