Luxury honeymoons: William and Kate invited to the Algarve

Those unsure of a destination for their luxury honeymoon may want to consider the Algarve, which is so spectacular that it is suitable for royalty.

Turismo do Algarve, the tourist board for the region, has extended an invitation to Prince William and his fiancee Kate Middleton to celebrate their marriage on the sun-kissed beaches of one of Portugal's most popular tourist spots.

The invitation has been sent to the British ambassador to Portugal who will pass it on to the royal couple.

Nuno Aires, president of Turismo do Algarve, said that the move honours the strong relations between the two countries and the fact that Britons are one of the most established groups of visitors to the region.

As a luxury honeymoon destination the Algarve has everything that couples could want.

Located in the south of Portugal, it boasts incredible beaches, fantastic luxury hotels, delicious cuisine and glorious weather, so newlyweds are catered for in all areas.
