Luxury family holidays: Tunisia is a 'fantastic' destination for holidaymakers

Britons planning luxury family holidays in Tunisia will find that it is a fantastic destination, it has been claimed.

Ffion Davies, press representative for the Tunisian National Tourist Office, revealed that the country is home to a range of stunning attractions and landmarks.

She said: "Tunisia is a fantastic destination for backpackers. There are also many historical and cultural attractions that would appeal to backpackers.

"Tunisia is easy to travel around independently, as transport around the country is cheap and efficient, via louage - shared taxi."

Ms Davies advised holidaymakers to try out the "delicious Tunisian specialities" served in the local restaurants.

Tunisia is becoming an increasingly popular holiday destination, according to official visitor figures from the Tunisian tourism body.

Through to September this year, Tunisia saw a 29.3 per cent increase in British tourists compared to the same period in 2009, with over 250,000 UK holidaymakers visited the country.
