Luxury family holidays: Hanoi is home to a range of cultural sites
Hanoi is an ideal location for a luxury family holiday as it is home to a range of cultural sites, it has been claimed.
Nick Maes, writing for the Daily Mail, expressed his belief that no holidaymaker should make sure they pay a visit the Vietnamese city's ancient pagodas, temples and cultural sites.
He said: "And no visitor should miss out on paying their respects to Ho Chi Minh.
"The granite mausoleum - it looks like a huge Thirties drinks cabinet - housing his mortal remains has imbued a cult of personality around him. This is a chance to witness a blink of history."
Mr Maes also claims that Tay Ho, in the north of the city, has now become a fashionable area with its array of boutiques and gourmet restaurants.
Award-winning chef Bobby Chinn has moved his atmospheric eatery to the area, which issues diners with a magnifying glass and torch to read the menu in the darkened building.
