Family safari breaks: Photographer reveals amazing safari experience
For photography lovers, there are few experiences which can give them such a wealth of photo opportunities as family safari holidays in Africa.
Ken Duncan, regarded as Australia's finest panoramic photographer, visited Rwanda, Botswana and South Africa earlier this year on behalf of Panasonic, testing out two of the company's Lumix models.
Mr Duncan, who is a Lumix ambassador, revealed to the Panasonic Australia blog that he was able to capture some breathtaking images of giraffes at sunset, mountain gorillas and tribal dancing.
He recalled the experience with the gorillas as being especially memorable.
"I was very close to the gorillas as they [had] come towards me and it was quite an amazing experience to be in close proximity to such powerful animals," Mr Duncan added.
To be in with a chance of capturing stunning close-up images of wildlife on a family safari holiday, visitors should choose to stay in a tented camp near or beside water, as this is a sure-fire way of seeing different creatures, according to travel writer Rob Woodburn, writing on The Transitory Traveller blog.
